Audra Mcdonald
Wherein an excellent singer and music, not that Dreamgirl crap
icepick - I saw that production as well. Also saw her first musical lead role in Marie Christine - very worthy of hunting down. If I weren't such a Mandy Patinkin freak I'd call Audra the best singer working in musical theater today - and if I'm really honest with myself, I'd say it anyway.
Audra is one of my wife's favorites. We got to see her and Brian Stokes Mitchell in the original run of Ragtime. That was an impressive cast!
