Hooker? I didn't even...oh wait, I guess I did.
1. ???? 2. I know this. It's the company he fictionally ran on Seinfeld. There's a "J" in it 3. ???? 4. Betty Boop? 5. Alps 6. Ceaser 7. ?????
1. Solar flares? Sunspots? 2. J. Peterman 3. Weimaraner? Are they water dogs? 4. I think Betty Boop is too old. Ms. dates from, what, 1970? So the character has to be late 30s/early 40s vintage.
#3 I don't think is Weimeraner, I'm pretty sure that's a regionally derived name (plus I think they are a sight hound and not a water dog). Springer Spaniel would be my guess, there are many Spaniels that are water dogs, and Springer sounds like a good German term for splashing water, how an English dog ended up with a German name is another story, I blame the Hapsburgs personally.
#4 Betty Boop is a "flapper" originally, and I think there might even be a few silent toons with her, so she goes back to 27-28 approx, she's about the same age as Mickey (I think), Diana Prince (aka Wonder Woman) makes more sense, plus seems more in tune with the late 60s early 70s given they probably did a very Roy Lichtenstein treatment for the cover (if not an actual Lichtenstein, come to think of it). Also, I think the Joss Whedon live action version that almost got made probably would have been pretty awesome (or a total mess).

Also thought Boop was too old, but that's all I could think of. Forgot all about the superhero with the invisible airplane.
ReplyDeleteAnother tough #7 this week.
ReplyDelete#1 is definitely sunspot activity.
