I think of "Shane" as more of a cold war parable. Shane is the USA, the sheep herders are Europe, and the cattle ranchers are the Soviet Union.

The movie thread on Althouse has the feel of an old well-worn shoe. I'm pretty sure we've already covered all of that here. You should sue for copy-right infringement.
Well, for the Inspirational movie descriptions, I did start those in an Althouse thread before collecting them for my own post.
Speaking of Dead Poets. Just realized this never made it in the comments, back then: Why Dead Poets Society is evil, sent to me by Adam at ALOTT5MA.
I see no reason to cloud the issue with facts.
