Wherein works exactly as advertised
It's the Back To Basics microwave popcorn popper. Just a heavy plastic bowl to which you add a 1/3 cup popcorn, maybe drizzle a little oil (instructions say up to 2 tablespoons, I add none to maybe a teaspoon), and nuke for about 2.5 minutes. Results equal perfectly popped popcorn. Rinse off in the sink and you're done. Bought ours at the local Target for $10-$12 and if you eat a lot of bagged microwave popcorn you'll probably make your money back in a couple weeks. Even if you buy the gourmet popping corn, which really is better tasting.
Hmm, as of this writing, not available at Target.com.

I got something similar through Amazon a month ago, works great.
I spray on the oil using a mister, seems to lead to fewer unpopped kernels that way, and distributes the flavor evenly.
(I've been using Orville's butter flavored oil, which isn't bad, and I don't have to add melted butter or even salt to get flavorful popcorn)
Haven't tried the buttered flavored oil because I don't care for butter flavored popcorn. Maybe I'll get for the rest of the household.
Ruhlman posted about how easy pot popcorn is. Which it is. But this is easier and less messy.
