This Snakes on the Plane thing
Wherein I prepare you for disappointment
You all do realize that Snakes on the Plane is just an elaborate April Fools Day prank, don't you? It is brilliant, so I'm just warning you.
But you still should read the Treacher cartoon

Heresy!
You're just lucky you were never an acolyte of the SoaPist Worshippers, cause I'm pretty sure they share the same dim view of apostasy as do some Muslims.
(I wonder if these film means Snakehandler Sects will make a comeback?)
Snakehandler sects never went away. Go into the rural south or Appalachians and you will find them.
Listen to Amy, she has a backyard full of snakes so she knows her stuff.
I should have used 'resurgence' instead of 'comeback' to better indicate that they are an ongoing concern that could see their numbers increase, rather than a forgotten sect that needs revivification.
Plus I can just see a bunch of computer nerds/ hip hop kids/ film geeks/ and the like showing up to one of these meetings.
Comedy gold that (until someone gets heart, then it's comedy diamonds).
I wouldn't be surprised if one of those film geeks puts together a fake 'snakehandling' meeting to do some sort of hipster 'fake' marketing for the film.
It'd get played on the stupid News section of local media, and maybe even the cable newsers.
